For the younger generation, being in Virtual Life (IVL) is more appealing than being in Real Life (IRL), and it's easy to understand the attraction.  In Virtual Life, a person is not restricted by the norms and pressures of everyday life.  Everything is seen through rose colored glasses. 

In order to understand the appeal, we decided to look at the advantages of being in a virtual world versus real life.  And after doing some research, we made our list of Top 10 Reasons Virtual Life (IVL) Is Better Than Real Life (IRL).

1.  The Food Is Better

In the Metaverse, there is no limit to the kind of cuisine you can create.  Want a dinasaur sandwich?  Roasted polar bear claw?  Or even monkey brain soup?  In Real Life, we would be breaking a dozen different animal protection laws by eating these foods.  However, in the Metaverse, people can eat any kind of food they want.  As an extra bonus, it protects the world's endangered species too.

2.  Road Rage Is Legal

Everyone has felt anger towards reckless drivers on the road, but few people would do anything about it.  Remember Jack Nickolson taking a 2-Iron and smashing the windshield of someone's car?  In the Metaverse, you can release that anger and not worry about the legal ramifications.  Road Rage is actuallly rewarded in the Metaverse by bonus points, or even free NFTs.  It doesn't get any better than that.  

3.  Cost Of Living Is Cheaper

The cost of a Virtual House is only a fraction of what a real house would cost, plus you don't have to worry about utilities, property tax, maintenance or any upkeep costs.  In addition, in Virtual Life, we don't have the monthly food costs, transportation fees, insurance premiums, or any other bills associated with daily living.  Other than the monthly Virtual Hosting or Gaming Subscription fees, IVL is probably less than a percent of what it costs in Real Life.  

4.  You Can Identify As Anybody Or Anything

Do you identify as another gender?  Or include yourself in another group or category?  In Virtual Life, you can be anybody, or anything, you want to be.  If a person identifies as a pink bunny, then that's their perogative.  In Virtual Life, when it comes to identifying as something different, everything is on the table.  

5.  People Don't Judge You By The Color Of Your Skin

This one is very straight forward.  There may be a billion colors on a 30-Bit Graphics Card, however, the human eye can only recognize a million of them.  Yet, to be perfectly honest, a million is still a mind-boggling amount.  

So, if an avatar wants to be the color spectrum of a rainbow, they can create a skin to reflect that.  Plus, with all the different characters living in the Metaverse, of all shapes and sizes, sometimes color is the last thing users think about.  We have to appreciate the Metaverse for its diversity, because it's truly a melting pot of the most unusual and unique people in the world. 

 6.  Bad Behavior Is Rewarded

The Metaverse may be one of the few places on the planet where Bad Behavior is rewarded.  Usually in games, players will get points or prizes for the number of opponents they kill.  Someone can take out a bazooka and blow up a hundred people, even innocent victims, but they will still be celebrated for it.  It's absolutely mind-boggling!

7.  Catfishing Is Acceptable

The whole culture of the Metaverse is based on hidden identity.  People use alias names, create fictional backgrounds, and hide behind Avatar Skins.  Every aspect of the Virtual Life is different than Real Life, and that's what makes it so special.  Everyone is Catfishing in this artificial reality, and that's okay.  

8.  You can Mute People You Don't Like

If there's a person bothering you, then just hit the Mute Button to block them out.  Imagine how wonderful it would be if they had a Mute Button in Real Life too.  

9.  No Shotgun Weddings

This one is PG-17.  When it comes to romance, the Metaverse is probably the safest place to be.  No "accidents" can happen in make-believe (at least not yet).
